Mars Hill area seniors celebrate Christmas with luncheon

MARS HILL, Maine — The Mars Hill, Blaine and Westfield Senior Citizens met on Wednesday, Dec. 22, for a Christmas party.

    There were 24 members and one guest present. Don Cadrette asked the blessing and gave the invocation. 

    Everyone enjoyed a luncheon of sandwiches, sweets, chips and eggnog. Gwen McEntee led the line by yodeling for her lunch. She was followed by those members whose names began or ended with ‘C.’

    Alta welcomed all with a hearty “HO! HO! HO!” A special welcome was extended to guest Marilyn Lovely.

    The meeting began with the flag salute, singing of “America” and “Rudolph, The Red-nosed Reindeer.”  The group paused for a moment of silent prayer for Paul Savard and Doreen Townsend.

    Next year’s officers are: President Pro Tem and Vice President Gwen McEntee, Secretary Arlene Wiggins, Assistant Secretary Helen Lint, Treasurer Bob Craig, Assistant Treasurer Grace Rideout,  Chaplain Don Cadrette, Assistant Chaplain Grace Rideout, Cards – Darlene Murphy. All members will assist with entertainment.

    Group pictures were taken by Joe Gaston and Jim Wiggins. Gifts were exchanged and everyone sang. Music was prepared by Vicki Smith in the form of song booklets and a tape.
