Parker Vaughn Allen

Allen, Parker Vaughn, 87, died December 24, 2006 at the Maine Veterans Home, Caribou. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.     PRESQUE ISLE and DONNA, TX – Parker Vaughn Allen, 87, died December 24, 2006 at the Maine Veterans Home in Caribou after a brief illness. He was born in Presque Isle, August 11, 1919, the son of Mahlon and Helen (Mullen) Allen.
    Mr. Allen was a local potato and beef cattle farmer for many years and a retired Rural Letter Carrier. He served with the United States Marine Corp during World War II and he was a member of the Lions Club in Easton and the Lions Club in Weslaco, TX. He was also a member of the Maine Rural Letter Carrier’s Association.
    Surviving besides his loving wife of 57 years, Irene (Coffey) Allen, is one son, Andrew Allen and his wife, Gloria of Presque Isle; one daughter, Susan (Sue) Madore and her husband Scott of Presque Isle; a sister, Merville Dahl of  Niantic, CT;  six grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister Lorraine Luce of Portland and two brothers, Merrill “Bud” Allen of Jersey Shore, PA and Elwin Allen of Presque Isle.
    A committal service was held 12:00PM Monday (January 8, 2007) at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Augusta. In lieu of flowers please make donations to your favorite charity. Arrangements in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.
