Easton seeks

The town of Easton is now searching for their oldest citizen who will be the recipient of the Boston Gold Head Cane since the passing of Lillian Keirstead, who was 104.      As of now they have found one who will be 94 in February. The town manager would like to know if there might be another person who can beat that age; if so, please call the Town Office.
The Happy Days Senior Citizens Club will be getting back on schedule with their regular meeting on Thursday, Jan. 11. There will be the usual potluck lunch before the meeting and a game of Beano following the meeting. See you there.
Correction
I made an error in last week’s report on the life of Easton’s oldest citizen and Boston Post Gold Cane holder, Lillian Keirstead. Lillian was a house mother at the Northern Maine Vocational Technical Institute for the nursing students and not at the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
Visits
Norma Jean Triola and husband, Peter, of Orlando, Florida, and their son, Jason, were visiting with her parents for a week over the Christmas holidays and got to see a little bit of snow fall before returning home. Jason is a student at Central Florida University.
Esther and Keith Richardson had all of their children home for a Christmas gathering this year. Kendra Polson and husband J.R. of Beverley, Mass.; Kert and Joanne Richardson and son Ethan, of Rochester, New York; David Richardson, of Beverley, Mass. and his girlfriend, Erin, of Quinsey, Mass.; and Chad Richardson and wife, Jennifer, of Gorham, where Chad is a student at the University of Southern Maine. They were all here. Brent and Eddie Richardson of Braintree, Mass., also were in Easton visiting with his mother, Rena Richardson, and another son, Scott and his wife, Penny, of Houlton, came up to spend Christmas day. They all joined together at the Odd Fellows Hall for their Christmas dinner and a lot of fun and visiting. Chad and Jennifer came Sunday and had to return after Christmas dinner for both of them to get back to work.
Most of the Jerry Flewelling family enjoyed a whole week at Fort Wilderness in Orlando, Florida, over the Christmas holidays. Jerry and Suzanne and their son Bruce and Valerie, along with their sons, Chris and Nick, went from Easton. Brian and his family went over Thanksgiving. The Flewellings’ daughter and son-in-law, Holly and Scott Dunning and children, Mackenzie, Zachary and Jack, of Hampden, went along and daughter, Heidi Kaeppler, husband, Shawn, and children, Katie, Alex, Kayla and Ben, from Madison, Wisconsin, met them there. A great week for everybody.
Kathy Perry drove to Terriville, Conn., to visit with her sons for the Christmas holiday. She visited with Russell and Ralph Walsh and families and also with Ryan in Bristol, Conn. Her mother, Helen King, rode down as far as Groveland, Mass. where she stopped to spend Christmas with another daughter, Elizabeth and Doug Babbitt and their children, Kevin and Chris.
Happy Birthdays
Happy birthday to Town Manager Jackie Bradley on this very day. We won’t ask the proverbial question.  Also celebrating today is Logan Lockhart and Acacia Kimball, and, in Florida, Shirley Foren is wished a happy one. And a happy birthday to C.J. Beaton for tomorrow.
