In December, 1956, Robert Wyman and Anne Kempkes were married at the Christ the King Catholic Church in Yonkers, N.Y.

In 2006, 50 years later, the couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at a surprise luncheon held at the Waterville Country Club in Oakland.

Their son, Scott Wyman, of Cumberland, and their daughter Nancy and her husband, Bill McEnaney, of Gorham, hosted the event. Granddaughters Mikayla Wyman, Cara McEnaney and Alison McEnaney assisted.

Bob Wyman grew up in Fort Fairfield. He met his future wife while he was serving in the U.S. Army in New Rochelle, N.Y. He is a retired banker and is one of the founders of Unity College in Unity, where the couple continues to reside.
