To the editor:
I told the people in the office in 2003 that it would be a big mistake if we invaded Iraq. far as writing to a newspaper about the war, I remained silent. While listening to Fox News’ unfair and unbalanced, a talking head said he expected the Republicans to go slow and prevent the Democrats from making much progress on the Bipartisan Baker Commission Report on the Iraq War, and other legislation.
He said if the Democrats don’t accomplish much it will help the Republicans in the 2008 elections. Reasonable people can disagree, but if any official in Washington purposely does anything to extend this war they should be tried for treason, and an accessory to murder and mayhem.
I have one nephew, a combat medic, who is returning to Iraq for his second tour. He had two close calls on his first tour. Another nephew is leaving for Afghanistan.
