ASHLAND – Jason Lee Hafford, 22, died unexpectedly Jan. 15, 2007 at his Ashland residence. He was born in Presque Isle, June 5, 1984, the son of Frederick J. Hafford and Julie (Burby) Hafford.
He was a 2002 graduate of Ashland Community High School and was employed as a heavy equipment operator at Irving Forest Products in Ashland.
Jason is survived by his parents, Julie and Ronald Belanger of Ashland and Fredrick J. Hafford of Masardis; one brother, Eric Hafford and his girlfriend Beth Soltowski of Bangor; maternal grandmother, Alicia Burby of Ashland; paternal grandparents, Adrian and Patricia Belanger of St. John and Frederick E. Hafford and Judy Hafford of Masardis; many cousins, aunts, and uncles. He was loved and will be missed by his many special friends, including his terrific girlfriend, Jessica Landry of Ashland. Jason was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Ellery Burby, and by two uncles, Robbie Burby, Sr. and Donald Belanger.
Relatives and friends called from 7 to 9 PM on Friday and 9:30 AM until time of service on Saturday. A funeral Mass was held on Saturday, Jan. 20 at the St. Mark Catholic Church, Ashland, with Fr. David Raymond officiating. A memorial service was held on Sunday, Jan. 21 at the Ashland Advent Christian Church. A service of Stimson-Ouellette Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St., Ashland.
