Hamel acquires equity position in financial firm

    PRESQUE ISLE – The Presque Isle-based financial services firm of Thompson Associates has announced that it is now known as Thompson-Hamel, LLC, a newly formed entity owned by Arthur Thompson, John “Jay” Thompson and Brian Hamel.
    Thompson-Hamel, LLC will continue in the tradition of Thompson Associates, which was formed over 44 years ago by its founder Arthur Thompson, in providing its clients with financial and estate planning services and offering a wide variety of investment and insurance products that allow its clients to meet their long-term financial goals and objectives.
    All three principals in the new firm have the designation of General Securities Representative after passing the rigorous Series 7 exam, and they are also licensed Life & Health Producers. These license designations allow Thompson-Hamel, LLC the ability to offer clients a full array of services, including life, long-term disability and long-term care insurance policies, and mutual funds, stocks, bonds, annuities and other investment products through their broker/dealer Ameritas Investment Corp.
