BRUNSWICK – The Maine Oil Dealers Association (MODA) has announced the hiring of Chris Jackson as Vice president. Jackson, of Bowdoinham (and formerly of Presque Isle), will provide legislative, regulatory, public policy and member services advice and assistance to the members of the Maine Oil Dealers Association.
MODA President Jamie Py said that Jackson brings both public policy and public relations experience to the organization. “Chris is respected in public policy circles. He has the ability to communicate the organization’s message articulately and effectively to various state and federal entities,” said Py.
Jackson said that he is excited about the opportunity to advocate on the behalf of such an important group.
“MODA’s membership comprises hundreds of businesses and thousands of employees in Maine,” said Jackson. “I’m looking forward to working with each of them in order to help preserve and promote this important industry.”
Most recently, Jackson managed the gubernatorial campaign of Sen. Chandler Woodcock. Prior to that, he served as the communications manager for Pierce Atwood Consulting, a public affairs and governmental relations consulting group in Portland and Portsmouth, New Hampshire. He has also served as a communications director and special assistant at the Maine Legislature, where he coordinated a variety of media-related and public policy efforts for the president of the Maine Senate.
