PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – The Quoggy Jo youth ski racing season kicked off in early February and several kids were on hand with their skis and snowboards in tow. The following are top finishers from the first race listed by age, place and time.

John Freeman, 46.42; girls ages 11-12: 1. Chandler Guerrette, 39.97; 2. Megan Ireland, 40.04; 3. Kayla Girardin, 41.96; boys ages 11-12: 1. Thomas Freeman, 35.74; girls ages 13-14: 1. Chelsey Carroll, 36.86; 2. Christina Hallowell, 43,94; boys ages 13-14: 1. Christopher Farley, 46.88.
Snowboarding: girls ages 9-10: 1. Taylor Williams, 60.34; boys ages 9-10: 1. Drew Bates, 49.80; girls ages 11-12: 1. Meredith Stewart, 53.99; boys ages 11-12: 1. Adam Cyr, 50.75; boys ages 13-14: 1. Trey Stewart, 39.94.

Snowboarding: boys ages 9-10: 1. Drew Bates, 38.05; 2. Josh Gordon, 48.35; girls ages 11-12: 1. Meredith Stewart, 51.05; boys’ ages 11-12: 1. Adam Cyr, 40.59; boys ages 13-14: 1. Trey Stewart, 36.35.
Skiing and snowboarding races are held every Sunday at 1 p.m. Individuals must race three times to qualify for a trophy at the end of the season.
