PIHS athlete of the week
The Varsity Club and Big Cheese Pizza are pleased to congratulate Adam Kingsbury and Kayla Legassie for being selected as athletes of the week for the week of Feb. 5-10.
Kingsbury grabbed the game winning steal to help the boys’ varsity basketball team defeat Houlton and later in the week had 15 points and 12 rebounds to lead the team to an important victory over Fort Kent.
Legassie scored 16 points to lead the girls’ varsity basketball team past Fort Kent.
Student athletes chosen as athletes of the week receive a one-item, large pizza courtesy of Big Cheese Pizza.
RCCC hosts race
CARIBOU, Maine – The RCCC continued their racing season Jan. 28 in Caribou. The following are results listed by category, place and racer.
Stock car: 1. Chris Cyr; 2. Ray Vogel; 3. Tim Otis.
4×4 sedan: 1. Tim Otis; 2. Paula Otis; 3. Taylor Otis.
Pro-truck: 1. Corey Burlock; 2. Paula Otis; 3. Ray Vogel.
The next race day is Sunday, Feb. 11 at 11 a.m. doors open at 10 and new racers and spectators are welcome. For those interested in joining, the club offers the first race for free. All ages are welcome.
The RCCC is also celebrating 20 years on Feb. 25 with a special event to be announced soon.
