To the editor:
As a follow-up to Dick Graves’ letter published on March 7th, I submit the following for everyone’s consideration.
Rather than ramble on about how politics is perceived to be the pricing problem, maybe we should examine the problem at a more local level. On March 3rd, WLBZ2 TV News from Bangor reported retail gas price survey in Maine showing Bangor area at the highest at $2.50 per gallon. On that same day, our local area pumps were at $2.73 per gallon at nearly all stations I drove by.
When there is a radical disparity of 23 cents per gallon from central Aroostook to Bangor, I can only perceive that the local pricing policy appears to be a major part of the problem. Does anyone else feel like they are being “gouged” locally?
