PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – Maine Kids-Kin, a program of Families And Children Together (FACT), will be presenting a legal education roundtable Saturday, May 5 from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the University of Maine at Presque Isle in Folsom Hall, Room 203.
This free event is an opportunity to talk to lawyers about guardianship, adoption, and child protective services. If you are raising a relative’s child, or working toward that goal, join in learning more about the law, court system, and working with attorneys.
The Maine Kids-Kin program assists extended family members who are stepping in to care for relatives’ children. Currently, there are over 11,000 Maine children who live with their relatives. Legal, educational and financial information is offered to assist these families.
Registration is required for this legal roundtable. For more information or to register by April 27, please contact Janelle Wuoristo at 941-2347, 1-866-298-0896 or jwuoristo@mainekids-kin.org.
