Katahdin promotes Putnam, Cawley

    Katahdin Trust Company Senior Vice President of Commercial Services Peter St. John has recently announced the promotions of Brenda L. Putnam to vice president of credit control and Robert J. Cawley to assistant vice president, credit analyst.  “We are pleased to recognize these two individuals as they have both earned this designation for their dedication and contributions to Katahdin Trust Company,” said St. John.
    Putnam, a Houlton native, has nearly 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Katahdin Trust Company, she served as loan officer and collection officer at KeyBank. In 1989, she joined Katahdin Trust Company as collections and compliance officer. She was promoted to assistant vice president, credit control officer in 1992, the position she held prior to her recent promotion. She is responsible for the overall operation of the Credit Control Department[Marker]. She resides in Houlton.
    Cawley, a Presque Isle native, is a certified public accountant and a graduate of the University of Southern Maine in Portland with a B.S. in business administration and Bentley College Graduate School in Waltham, Mass. with a masters in accounting. He also attended the Northern New England School of Banking in Durham, N.H. and received his general banking diploma from the Northern New England Center for Financial Training.
    Cawley joined Katahdin Trust Company in 2000 as a credit analyst, the position he held prior to his recent promotion. He is responsible for analyzing business financial statements to provide a foundation for the bank’s loan decision making. Active in community activities, Cawley currently serves as a trustee for the Presque Isle Development Fund, a member of the SAD 1 School Board and member of the SAD 1 Finance Committee. He resides in Presque Isle with his wife Trudy and two children, Christopher and Michelle.
