Goan, Gertrude E., 87, of Presque Isle, died July 25 at a Presque Isle hospital.
    Presque Isle – Gertrude E. Goan, 87, died July 25, 2007 at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born February 3, 1920 in Presque Isle the daughter of Lamont and Mary Ellen (Sweeney) Thompson.
    She was a communicant of St Mary’s Catholic Church in Presque Isle. Surviving her are two daughters, Cheryl McArdle of Presque Isle and Mary Ellen Bushman of Leonardtown, MD; a brother Walter Thompson of Presque Isle; sisters Regina Calabani of Newport, RI and Helen Goodreau of Wesfield, MA; step daughters Shirley Cyr, Connie Reynolds, Carol Maynard, Patty Deletetsky, Debbie Booth and Joan Ferland; several grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews; also special friends Mary Jo Badger, Karen Winslow and Mort and Stella Carlstrom.
    There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 10:00 AM Monday July 30 at St Mary’s Catholic Church with Rev. Raymond Morency celebrant. Arrangements are in the care of the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home. Condolences may be expressed at www.duncan-graves.com.
