MCPHERSON, Mary Caroline, 83, of Mont Chase and Presque Isle, died July 29, 2007, at the nursing home in Patten. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service at the Stetson Memorial United Methodist Church in Patten 2:00 PM Sunday, August 5, 2007.
Image    Mount Chase and Presque Isle – Mary Caroline McPherson, 83, died   July 29, 2007 at the nursing home  in Patten, Maine.   She was born July 17, 1924 in Presque Isle, daughter of   J. Finch Park and  Isadore (Hawes) Park.  She grew up in Presque Isle on a potato farm and graduated from Presque Isle High  School in 1941.   After marriage in 1945 to G. Alex McPherson, she became a farm wife.
    She was a member of the Grant Memorial Methodist Church and its women’s group.
In 1969, the family moved to Mount Chase.  She was a member of the Stetson Memorial United Methodist Church in Patten where she was an active member in the
women’s  group and sang in the choir.  She was also a member of other community
groups–Shin Pond Coffee Babes and the Snowshoe Quilters.     
    She enjoyed home cooking,  playing the piano, singing,  sewing, quilting, and other crafts.  She is survived by   her  husband  of  61 of years,  G. Alex McPherson of Patten; a brother, Larry Park and his wife Edith of Presque Isle;    children,   Anne Baker and her husband  Larry of Avon; George McPherson and his wife Linda of Oxbow; Evelyn Marquis and her husband Jay of Royal Palm Beach,  Florida; and  Ralph  McPherson and his wife Paula of Bangor; 3 grandchildren, George McPherson  III, Jeremy Baker and Erin Perkins.  There are 5 great-grandchildren  as well as  cousins, nieces and nephews.
    Friends and family are invited to a memorial service at the Stetson Memorial United Methodist Church in Patten at 2:00PM Sunday, August 5, 2007.  In lieu of flowers, donations  may be sent to the Stetson Memorial United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 680, Patten,  04765.  Interment will be in the Fairmount Cemetery on the Houlton Road in Presque Isle. Arrangements in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home in Presque Isle.
