Thompson Carlton Marshall, Ruth, 80, of Presque Isle and Jonesboro, died September 22, 2007 ast Eastern Maine Medical Center. A graveside committal service will be held at the Crouseville Cemetery at 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 29 followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:00 p.m. at the Grant Memorial United Methodist Church of Presque Isle.     Presque Isle and Jonesboro – Ruth T. Carlton Marshall, 80, died September 22, 2007 at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. She was born in Presque Isle June 11, 1927, the daughter of Leon and Eva (Cunningham) Thompson.
    Ruth attended schools in Presque Isle and graduated from Washburn High School. After raising her family and operating a farm with her husband, Ted Carlton, Ruth worked in an office at Potato Service in Presque Isle and later at Birdseye Frozen Foods in Caribou. She later became licensed as a Certified Nurse Assistant and did home health care work. Ruth was Twice Past Worthy Matron of Coldvale Chapter, Order of Eastern Star. After retiring, she enjoyed writing, painting and volunteer work at the Aroostook Area Agency on Aging. She was an advisory board member for RSVP. In 2001 Ruth moved to Jonesboro where she became a member of the Castaways, a local knitting group. She donated many dozens of knitted caps, mittens and scarves to schoolchildren.
    She was pre-deceased by her first husband Ted Carlton; her second husband, Winston Marshall; and by a grandson, Robert Michael, the son of Bruce and Marianne Carlton. She is survived by her sons Brian Carlton and his wife, Susan, of Jonesport and Bruce Carlton and wife, Marianne, of Virginia Beach, VA. A graveside committal service will be held at the Crouseville Cemetery at 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 29th followed by a Celebration of Life at 3:00 p.m. at the Grant Memorial United Methodist Church of Presque Isle.
