Clayton and Charlene Webb were in Bangor on the weekend of Sept. 15 to attend the 25th wedding anniversary of their niece and husband, Darlene and Greg Kinney. The day before they left Charlene made and decorated a three-tier wedding cake, which was topped by the 25th decoration used on the Webb’s cake when they celebrated their own 25th. The affair was held at the Kenny home and many friends and relatives were served refreshments made by the Webb’s and punch was served by Clayton who served as Master of Ceremonies.

All too soon, it appears, the nice warm sunny days are disappearing and before you know it, the snow will be flying. Have harvested all of my potatoes and will soon dig up my carrots. The deer have liked their tops so will leave them until last. Have gotten a nice crop of tomatoes, too. Stewed many to put in the freezer for the coming winter. This year the deer didn’t gnaw away at the tomato tops, and only once in a while chewed the potato tops. The other day, quite early in the morning, watched while eight deer and a fawn had a marvelous time playing tag in my large back yard. They were leaping and running and chasing one another for about 20 minutes or so, then it all seemed to end as quickly as it started, with all of them dashing off into the woods. I am still having fun watching that grey squirrel hanging from his tail and hind feet to get at the sunflower seeds. Usually the little red squirrel waits patiently until he is able to get at the seeds himself. And this week took in my hummingbird feeder to store until May.
