HOULTON – Anna M. Turner, 61, died Sept. 21, 2007 with her family at her side at a local hospital. She was born July 1, 1947 in Presque Isle, the daughter of Ralph and Grace (Bubar) Broad.
Anna was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She worked as a nurse at Houlton Regional Hospital and at Madigan Home Health Care.
Known to many as Ann and to her family and many friends as "Pinky," she was loved and respected for her compassionate nature and her strong work ethic. She took great pride in her work and always felt it was a privilege to serve others. Anna loved life and her greatest joy was her family.
She is survived by her husband Jon R. Turner of Houlton; son Scott, his wife Jill and their son Ciaran all of Los Angles, CA; her daughter Andrea of San Diego, CA; sister Barbara McIntosh and her husband Wayne of Bristol, CT; sister-in-law Sharon Broad of Blaine; brother-in-law Craig Turner and his wife Ethel of Otisfield; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; foster parents Roy and Bertha Mersereau; brothers Stephen and Robert Broad; sister Nina Broad; and parents-in-law Kenneth and Mary Irvine.
A memorial service was held at Houlton United Methodist Church Monday, Sept. 24th with Rev. Naomi Sam’Kpakra officiating. Friends may make gifts in Anna’s memory to Houlton/Hodgdon Dollars for Scholars, c/o Dunn Funeral Home, 11 Park Street, Houlton, 04730.
