WINDSOR LOCKS, CT – Elizabeth A. “Bette” (Conlogue) Grant, 76, of Windsor Locks, wife of Robert L. Grant, died Sunday, September 23, 2007 at Hartford Hospital. She was born January 17, 1931 in Houlton, Maine, the daughter of Edward and Mary (Allison) Conlogue.
She grew up and was married in Houlton and had lived in Long Beach, CA before moving to Windsor Locks in 1964. After raising her family she was employed for over 25 years at Southern Auto Auction in East Windsor where she made many friends throughout the region. Bette was a faithful communicant of St. Robert Bellarmine Church where she was a long time member of the Altar Society and the Women’s Society. She was a member of the OWL Club and enjoyed a variety of crafts, baking and bird watching.
In addition to Bob, her husband of 57 years, she is survived by six children, Mark Grant and his wife Kathy of Suffield, Brett Grant and his wife Dianne of Windham Center, Stephen Grant and his wife Dana of Chico, CA, Kathryn Grant of Windsor Locks, Christopher Grant and his wife Leilani of Caldwell, ID, Jennifer Zeliger and her husband David of Prospect, KY; five sisters, Joan Lanzone of Long Beach, CA, Jeanette Hamilton and Marie Stine, both of Windsor Locks, Sister Theresa Conlogue of Augusta, ME and Sister Ruth Conlogue of Portland, ME; a brother, Eugene Conlogue of Ashland, OR; fifteen grandchildren, Karen, Sheila, Kevin, Bridget Brendan and Helen; Brooke and Dana; Jessica, Danielle and Claire; Connor, Keenan and Cassidy; and Meren; five great-grandchildren, Gaelen, Grace and Nora; Elias and Anna, many loving nieces and nephews and dear friends.
Her family received friends at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks, Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, South Elm St., Windsor Locks. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Windsor Locks. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
