PRESQUE ISLE:  The Reed Art Gallery celebrates its first art installation of the season with “An Uncanny Resemblance” by Clifton Boudman, a long time professor of fine arts at the University of Maine at Presque Isle. Boudman’s work will be celebrated during a reception on Sunday, Sept. 23 at 4 p.m. in the university’s Campus Center. Boudman will be present to answer questions and discuss his works, which will be on display in the Reed Art Gallery from Aug. 20 to Sept. 30. The public is invited to view Boudman’s show and attend his reception. Light refreshments will be served. Gallery hours are from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday -Friday. The gallery is closed Sundays and university holidays.
PRESQUE ISLE:  Photojournalist Bridget Besaw will present “Wildness Within, Wildness Without: Exploring Maine’s Thoreau-Wabanaki Trail” at the Reed Art Gallery at UMPI. Gallery hours are Monday-Saturday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., starting October 10-Nov. 28. The exhibition is a photographic documentation of the routes traveled by Henry David Thoreau and his Penobscot guides a century and a half ago and of the ways which people retrace those paths and routes today.

CASTLE HILL:  Castle Hill Grange Hall Preservation Society will be having a concert/karaoke with Fireman Fred. There will be door prizes and a 50/50 raffle. There will be refreshments, sandwiches, desserts and soda. The time is from 2-5 p.m.
FORT FAIRFIELD:  The Knights of Columbus Northern Maine Council 1753 of Fort Fairfield is hosting a chicken stew dinner starting at noon. The cost $5 and advance tickets are available from the Knights of Columbus. Proceeds are to benefit the Fort Fairfield Community Pool Project. Project Chairman is Tony Levesque, 473-7338.
