Elections – There are five positions to be filled at the county level during the Nov. 2 general election. The most interesting race, at least in southern Aroostook, is between Edgar Wheeler and David DeMerchant, both of whom are seeking to replace retired Sheriff Darrell Crandall.
Honored — F.A. Peabody Co. recently honored Vera Mitchell of Sherman Mills in recognition of 25 years of service with that company.
