PRESQUE ISLE – The Presque Isle Recreation Department, in conjunction with U.S. Cellular and the Wintergreen Arts Center, is throwing a Halloween bash at the Aroostook Centre Mall. The party will be held Saturday, Oct. 27 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Wintergreen Arts Center, next to Sears.
Families and children are invited to enjoy Halloween games, pumpkin painting, armfuls of goodies and prizes, glow-in-the-dark face painting, and lots of fun. In addition to fun and games, there will be a Halloween art project in the Children’s Art Studio. Kids will learn how to create wicked witch masks and other spooky characters out of paper mache. There is no registration required, but there is a $3 fee for the festivities. Don’t forget to wear your costume!
A free movie sponsored by U.S. Cellular will begin at 4 p.m. and last until 5 p.m. Bring the family to see “Pooh’s Heffalump Halloween Movie” on the Art Center’s big movie screen. Free popcorn and drinks for all.
A free Halloween safety demonstration will be provided by U.S. Cellular and local emergency personnel. Families and children can learn more about cell phone safety and emergency procedures. Local safety officials will also be offering free fingerprinting, dental impressions, and video interviewing and will demonstrate Halloween costume and Trick or Treating safety.
The Wintergreen Arts Center was established in 2006. Its mission is to provide an atmosphere rich in the creative arts for the residents of and visitors to Aroostook County.
