    BRISTOL, CT – Rose M. (Caron), 89, wife of the late Lawrence J. Corbin Sr., died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, at Sheridan Woods Health Care Center, Bristol, CT. Rose was born Feb. 3, 1918, in Clair, New Brunswick, a daughter of the late John Caron and Ana-stasia (Soucy) Garrity-Caron.Image     She lived in Portage from 1920 to 1938, when she moved to Boston and then to Bristol, Conn., in 1940, where she was employed at the former W.T. Grant Co., for 17 years before retiring in 1976. She was a member of St. Ann Church, Bristol, CT, and the Ladies of St. Ann Society. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, vacationing with her husband in Aroostook County and bingo. She also was an avid Boston Red Sox and UCONN Huskies basketball fan.
    Rose is survived by a daughter, Mary Ann Caron and her fiancé, Darey Gagnon of Portage; a son, Lawrence J. “Pete” Corbin Jr. of Bristol, CT.; six grandchildren, Denise Nocera and her husband, Vinnie, Dianne Winslow, Donna Lausier, Gene Caron Jr., Kimberlee Varasconi and her husband, Jim, and Jodi Corbin; 11 great-grandchildren, Gregory and Courtney Lausier, Jacob Caron, Chelsey Winslow, Miranda and Vinnie Nocera, Briana Corbin, Tyler Varascoi and triplets, Samantha, Hannah and Riley Varasconi; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved seven brothers, Jack, Raymond, Daniel, Albert Sr., Leonard and Willard Garrity, and Reno Caron.
    Funeral services were held 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bell-vue Ave., Bristol, CT. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ann Church, Bristol, CT. Burial will be after at St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol, Conn. Relatives and friends called 5-8 p.m. Friday a the funeral home.
