City officials are warning local residents about the no-parking ban during the night on city streets from Nov. 1 to May 1 to aid in the clearing of streets during the winter. Local public works director, David Ouellette, said last month that residents need to adhere to the winter parking regulations.
“Let the public know that this is not accepted in this community,” Ouellette said, referring to the audience watching the council meeting via cable television.
Parking is prohibited between the hours of midnight to 6 a.m., regardless of weather, Ouellette said.
Three all-night parking lots are available in the city, located on Herschel Street, between the Collins Lumberyard buildings and on lower Water Street. Vehicles parked illegally are subject to being towed at the owners expense, Ouellette said.
