Our Aroostook Teen Leadership Club will again host the annual leadership weekend. Middle school students from Aroostook County will gather to learn how to become better leaders in their schools and communities. This will be held at Mill Pond School Saturday, Dec. 8. For further details please call Mrs. Harbison at 532-9228.
There is a middle school/high school concert scheduled for Dec. 12 at the Mill Pond School. This will begin at 6:30 p.m. Come, get in the holiday spirit and enjoy a relaxing evening of beautiful music. Also, the concert that was scheduled for last night will be rescheduled. Watch for details!
Our fifth graders are involved in their annual food drive with the food items being donated to the St. Mary’s Food Pantry to aid needy area families. They invite you to join them in making this a “record” year for collecting. If you are unable to bring food to the school but would like to donate, please call the school and we will arrange for someone to pick up your donation.
Also, Mrs. Harbison raffled a gingerbread house with proceeds going to purchase turkeys for the St. Mary’s Food Pantry. Rhonda Irish of Danforth was the winner of the gingerbread house with over $75 being raised to purchase turkeys for the food pantry. We would like to thank all of you who purchased tickets and a special thanks to Mrs. Harbison for the time she dedicated to this project.
I have recently taken over the position of Homeless Liaison for SAD 70.  If you know of students who reside in this district and you believe to be homeless, please call Rhonda Foster or me at the school to find out more information.
Our special thanks to the Hodgdon and Linneus Fire Departments who assisted us Friday with practicing a full-scale evacuation. We feel it was successful and we have a few things we will try to refine.  We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of the majority of parents who realize the importance of this practice, which is to protect the safety of our students and staff members.
    Enjoy this wonderful holiday season!
