Student work on display in Pullen Art Gallery

PRESQUE ISLE – “Attaining Womanliness,” a collection of mixed media sculptural pieces by Heather L. Nunez, will be on display in the Pullen Art Gallery on the University of Maine at Presque Isle campus through Thursday, Jan. 31.     The collection is an attempt to share a visual autobiography through the use of altered objects and artifacts. Although primarily informed by the personal events and the baggage that has resulted in Nunez’s quest for womanliness, the artist said she has strived to connect with the trials of the coming to age of all women.
Nunez is a senior art student at the University. It is a rare privilege for a student to be invited to exhibit a private show at the Pullen Gallery separate from his or her senior art show. For more information, contact harry_tripe@hotmail.com or 540-4502.
