Spaghetti “On Ice”
    There will be a spaghetti dinner to support the Southern Aroostook Youth Hockey Association from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday at the Houlton Lodge of Elks on Main Street in Houlton.
    Donations will be accepted to offset the cost of the meal. Also, there will be several drawings held for a variety of prizes.
Houlton Rifle and Pistol Club to meet
    The Houlton Rifle and Pistol Club monthly meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Feb. 3 at the clubhouse located adjacent to Houlton International Airport. Recreational shooting will follow the meeting. All members are encouraged to attend.
Snowmobile Poker Run

    The Class of 2008 is sponsoring a snowmobile poker run on Feb. 9 at Hodgdon High School starting at 9a.m. For more information contact Anita Levesque at 532-2413 or email trooper626@yahoo.com.
Hunter Safety Course
    A Hunter Safety Course will be held Jan. 29 and Feb. 9 at Houlton High School. This course meets the mandatory Maine licensing requirement for first-time hunters and it is recommended for all Maine hunters.
    Instructor will be Maurice Brewer.
    The two-session class will begin on Tuesday, Jan. 29 from 6-8:30 p.m. in Room 265, and it will finish on Saturday, Feb. 9 with the class being held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Room 123.
    Cost is $3. The class is sponsored by SAD 29 and SAD 70 Adult Education. To register, call 521-3154.
Motorcycle Rider Education     The Aroostook County Motorcycle Rider Education course will be offered in April, but registration for classes began on Jan. 15.
    The 20-hour class is based on the Motorcycle Safety Foundation hands-on curriculum. Participants will discuss collision avoidance techniques, safety issues, driver habits and attitudes, as well as the basic elements that constantly challenge drivers on Maine highways.
    A Motorcycle Safety Foundation certified Rider Coach will teach the course. The class format engages students into discussion and range riding participation. Those completing the course by obtaining an 80 percent or above on the knowledge test, with 20 or less points on a skill evaluation will receive a motorcycle driver’s license endorsement.
    Classes fill quickly. Motorcycles are supplied for the course.
