Glidden, Geneva H., 95, March 3, 2008.  Arrangements by Bowers Funeral Home, Houlton.  Interment to be held in the spring in the Crystal Cemetery.
    PATTEN – Geneva (Hatt) Glidden, 95, died March 3, 2008, in Patten. She was born November 10, 1912, in Snohomish, Washington, the daughter of Rueben and Annie (Anderson) Hatt.
    She is survivied by three daughters, Madelyn and her husband, Thurston Townsend of Patten, Emmeline Walton of Monmouth and FL, Elaine and her husband, Arthur Witherall, of Winthrop and FL; two sons, Wilbur A Glidden, Jr. of Clearwater, FL, Emery and his wife, Janet Glidden of Windsor; ex-son-in-law Gary Walton; a dear ex-daughter in-law Pat Blaisdell; twenty-two grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Special friends Dot Weston, Ann and Kathy Colter,  Linwood Jamison all of Houlton and Helen Palmer, Dean and Frances McKinney of Patten. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Wilbur A. Glidden; and two brothers, Clifford and Boynton Hatt.
    She attended Crystal Schools, helped her husband on the farm working in the fields and in the barns. When in her forties she went to work at the Augusta Mental Health Institute for approximately 24 years taking riders to and from work with her, had as many as three boarders and helped her husband take care of 35 thousand birds. After her husband's death she sold their farm in Readfield and bought a home in Houlton in 1985. While in her 70's and 80's she took in boarders, raised a garden, had many flowers, which she shared with her neighbors. Her passions were Her Lord Jesus, family, friends and flowers. Her family deeply appreciates the loving care she received at Mountain Heights.
    Friends may call 10-11 am on Thursday, March  6, 2008, at Stetson Memorial United Methodist Church where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday with the Rev. Tae Sung Kang officiating and Mark Townsend. Spring interment will be in the Crystal Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may donate in her memory to Stetson Memorial United Methodist Church and Mountain Heights Healthcare Facility, c/o Bowers Funeral Home, P.O.
