My favorite place in the world

Do you have a favorite place where nothing in the world disturbs you or even begins to bother you? Where everything is perfect? We all need a place to escape.  This place for me is Tobay Beach.     The first thing that hits you the moment you step foot on the sand is the crisp, salty aroma of the ocean. When you hear the soft swish of the ocean beating on the sand, it’s almost like all of your worries are washed away by the waves. Peacefulness is how I would describe this feeling, peacefulness.
When I lie under the warm sun on my soft towel, I feel relaxed and at ease while listening to the wonderful sounds of the beach. Although one of these sounds is children screaming and laughing, when I am here it does not seem to bother me like it would anywhere else. I smell the scent of sunscreen in the light ocean breeze. I also smell a hint of hamburgers and hotdogs wafting over from the snack bar. These two smells mixed together are sensational.
I gaze up at the water watching some experts and some learners boogey boarding. I look to the left at the ocean and see many swimmers. It’s amazing how far some people can swim out, even with the waves thrashing. The swimmers look like tiny speckles from where I am. I glance to the left and my eyes go wild for the surfers. Each on his or her unique board, they stand in complete concentration as if trying to complete a puzzling math equation. They tackle the waves like a fierce cheetah. I could watch for hours and not get the slightest bit bored.
My visit to the beach is not complete until I build a sandcastle. Sandcastles are like people, all different shapes and sizes. When you look around you notice a kingdom of many sandcastles. Are any of them identical to others? No. That’s why they are so fun to make, you get to design them yourself. At this beach, though, you can add so many finishing touches because there is an abundance of seashells. There is a huge variety, all different colors.  Some are jagged, some are smooth. Rarely will you find undamaged shells there. Most people think that damaged shells are not worth keeping. To me they are. They give memories of my favorite place.
I visit this incredible beach with family members I don’t have the opportunity to see very often. Sometimes we will all play frisbee. I play frisbee at home as well, but being on the Tobay Beach with my family while playing it is a totally different feeling. I feel comforted.
I don’t believe there is a word in the English language to describe how I feel about Tobay Beach. When I go there it seems as if I am dreaming, and I don’t want to wake up from this exhilarating dream. I want my stay at Tobay Beach to last forever. I truly consider Tobay Beach, out of the many places in the world, my favorite place.
