DYER BROOK — On Tuesday, Feb. 5, Motivational Productions paid a visit to SACS. Middle and high school students gathered in the Multi-Purpose Room to view the three-screen presentation. Motivational Productions travels across the United States delivering messages to young people about substance abuse, friendships, respect, and making good decisions.     The film’s theme centered on how choosing ones friends can affect ones life. Positive and negative friendships were focused on in the film. It showed how the right friends can help you succeed, and the wrong friends can hinder you later on in life.
The plot followed the lives of two young girls, one who moved to a new town and one who had a life threatening illness. The newcomer made friends with the wrong crowd who diminished her self-esteem, causing her to take her own life. The ailing girl’s friends stood by her side during her long illness and recovery.
The basic principle of the presentation was to make young people aware of the qualities to look for in choosing friendships.
