DYER BROOK — Dyer Brook voters will, among other issues, decide whether or not expand their Board of Selectmen from three members to five when town meeting is held March 17.
According to Town Clerk Florence Hardy, that decision will be up for discussion, as well as, this year’s proposed municipal budget. The town budget, which doesn’t include county or school expenses, is projected to be $53,312, an amount that’s down by $6,619 from last year.
Voters will also choose a slate of municipal officers. Positions open this year include: town clerk, town treasurer, as well as, 1-year, 2-year and 3-year terms on the Board of Selectmen.
Running for town clerk is incumbent Florence Hardy, and running for town treasurer is Randy Curry. Seeking a 1-year term on the Board of Selectmen is David McLaughlin. Wade Slauenwhite is running for a 2-year position on the board; pursuing a 3-year term are Richard Burton and Hazel Beers.
On Monday, March 17, polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Dyer Brook town office and the meeting will follow at 7 p.m.
