Cooking for a Crowd is a two-day workshop sponsored by the University of Maine Cooperative Extension. Workshop officials are inviting organizations and community groups to participate as many volunteers prepare food for fund-raising events.
This two-part workshop will take place on April 15 and April 22 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
It will cover the following food safety concerns: planning and purchasing, storing food supplies, preparing and cooking the food, transporting, storing and serving cooked food and how to handle leftovers.
There’s a lot to learn about safe food preparation and handling.
If you don’t do it for a living, you may be unaware of all the special techniques involved.
It’s scary to think about getting sick from a meal outside the home, but it can happen.
For more information or to pre-register for this workshop, please call the Fort Kent Extension Office at 834-3905 or 1-800-287-1421.
