Richard R. Bishop, 70, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2008, in Snellville, GA. Richard was born on October 1, 1937, in Caribou, Maine to Edward and Agnes Bishop. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for 24 years including the Vietnam War and served 10 years with the U.S. Customs Service. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, American Legion, Elks and VFW. He was a man who made you feel like a life long friend even when meeting him for the first time. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Richard was preceded in death by his sister Connie Bishop and brother Edward Bishop. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Betty Ann Bishop of Lawrenceville, daughters Debra Sabado and husband Brandon of Las Vegas, NV., Donna Perez and husband Rudy of Atwater, CA., son Richard Bishop and wife Kim of Lawrenceville, sisters Viola Peterson of Lawrenceville, Joan McCaffree of Puyallup, WA., Leona Ray of Plantation, FL. and Caroline Pisciotta of Lawrenceville, grandchildren Luis Garavito, Sherri Perez, Tiffani Perez, Blaine Sabado, Brandie Sabado, Bronson Sabado, Riley Bishop, Ian McAllister and Erin McAllister and great-grandson Alec Garavito.
The family received friends on Saturday, March 22, 2008, from 4-8 p.m. at Eternal Hills Funeral Home. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. on Monday, March 24, 2008, in the Eternal Hills Chapel.
