To the editor:
In March 2004 our family moved to Aroostook County from Colorado. In July 2006 we moved back to Colorado. In August 2007, once again we moved back to Aroostook County, this time settling down in a wonderful farmhouse in Stockholm. The house, big red barn, beautiful land and great community were just what we’d been searching for and we finally felt at home. Sadly, one night this past January our barn burned down. It was a loss not only for us, but surely for the longtime residents of Stockholm, for whom it was a part of the history and landscape.
On March 8 a benefit was held on our behalf, put together by our hardworking and caring neighbors, Jim and Tanya Plante. We would like to thank them and everyone who helped, attended or made donations. We feel so grateful for your support and warm welcome to our family.
We would also like to thank the generous area businesses for donating merchandise to the raffle and Eureka Dining Hall, who donated the food for the dinner.
Aroostook County is a wonderful place to live and we are so pleased to call it home.
