HOULTON — Houlton Police are pursuing leads in connection with a March 19 shooting.
A search warrant has been executed in connection with the investigation, and Houlton Police Chief Butch Asselin said they don’t believe it was a random act.
The shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. when the victim, a 21-year-old Littleton man, was walking near the Highland Avenue bridge when someone in a passing vehicle shot at him several times with a BB gun. The victim sought treatment at Houlton Regional Hospital; most of the BBs were too difficult to be removed, said Asselin.
Police believe the victim is mostly likely connected to the suspect through a mutual relationship. The suspect involved is facing a charge of aggravated assault.
Officer Charlie Wampler is investigating.
