
PRESQUE ISLE – Aroostook County Action Program (ACAP) is pleased to welcome a new member to their staff.
Martha (Cowperthwaite) Bell joined ACAP in January as community health education specialist and regional tobacco coordinator. As community health education specialist, Bell will conducts presentations throughout Aroostook County to medical providers, social workers and behavioral health staff regarding the benefit of counseling, medication and social support for tobacco users.
She also plans to provide information regarding the resources and services that the state provides for its residents through the Maine Tobacco Helpline.
As regional tobacco coordinator, Bell is a resource to the Healthy Maine Partnership (HMP) staff in central and southern Aroostook, as well as community coalitions, organizations and municipalities within the local HMP service area.
“I am excited to join the team at ACAP in assisting individuals and families achieve greater economic independence,” said Bell.
