HOULTON – Houlton’s Rachel Foster, daughter of Steve and Bonnie Foster, was selected to the 32nd All-Maine Second Team Schoolgirl Basketball Team. Foster finished her illustrious high school career with some big numbers. She joined Houlton High School’s 1,000 point club on December 7, 2007 finishing her high school career with 1,493 points, along with an impressive 1,027 rebounds and more than 400 blocks.
Foster was a semifinalist for Miss Basketball, a McDonald’s Senior All-star and a two-time Class C All-Tournament selection for the Eastern Maine Basketball Tournament. She was also a Penobscot Valley Conference First Team All-star for the last two years, as well as an Aroostook All-star for the last three seasons.
“Rachel has had a terrific four-year career at Houlton High School and has been a tremendous asset to our program during that time,” said coach Shawn Graham. “Her hard work and dedication to the game speaks for itself.”
Named to the All-Maine First Team were Morgan Frame of Waterville, Coreen Hennessy of Fryeburg Academy, Jill Henrikson of Morse, Rachael Mack of Cony and Aarika Ritchie of Lee Academy.
Joining Foster on the All-Maine Second Team were Brogan Liberty of Lawrence, Renee Nicholas of Lake Region, Shelby Pelkey of Cony and Kari Pelletier of Oxford Hills.
Making the All-Maine Third Team were Courtney Cochran of Woodland, Nicole Garland of Deering, Hillary LaFerriere of John Bapst, Jenn Lola of Monmouth and Kelley Paradis of Nokomis.
