TAMC offers Advance Directives Clinic

Have you ever thought about what would happen if you became unable to make medical decisions for yourself? You can complete a few simple forms, called advance directives, to make your wishes known to family, friends and healthcare providers.     Advance directives are legal documents, including a living will and healthcare power of attorney, which allow people to stay in control of end-of-life issues.
For example, advance directives communicate your feelings about tube feeding, organ and tissue donation, and the use of life-sustaining medical equipment to those who would make healthcare decisions for you if you could not make those decisions for yourself.
The Aroostook Medical Center is holding a free advance directives clinic on Monday, April 14, from 4-7 p.m. at A.R. Gould Memorial Hospital in Presque Isle to help community members complete the forms. The forms only take a few minutes to complete, and it is not necessary to make an appointment or pre-register.
Hospital personnel will be on hand to help you complete the forms and answer any questions you may have about the process.
