WDHS winter athletic awards

    WASHBURN – Washburn District High School had their winter sports awards on March 17.
    Girls’ varsity basketball coach Ron Ericson commended his team on their fine season. Letters were presented to managers Jessica O’Donnell and Sydney Beckwith. A certificate was presented to manager Lindsey Blackstone.

Pins were presented to equipment manager Owen James and to players Erica McDougall, Kelsee McLaughlin, Samantha Cochran, Alex Bird, Kristen Goupille, Rachel Palmer, Morgan Berube, Amber Reed, Jordan Chandler, Felicia Cochran, Dakota Koch, Sarah Sjoberg, Meghan Saucier and Rebecca Campbell.  Samantha Cochran received a 3-year letter plaque. Campbell was recognized for her outstanding season with the Rookie of the Year award. McLaughlin and McDougall were named the teams Most Valuable Players.
    Cheerleading coach Jessica Haley presented a letter to Cody Hafford, and pins to Kelsey King, Alison King and Julie Stephenson. Hafford was recognized as being the Most Improved Cheerleader and Stephenson received the Coach’s Award.
    First year boys’ varsity basketball coach Randy Norsworthy presented awards to his team. Receiving a certificate was Alex McIntosh. Earning varsity letters were Travis Conley and Cody Frank. Receiving pins were Brian Campbell, Nick McIntosh, Evan Sperrey, Sebastian Viola, Justin Howe, Salvatorre Viola, Kyle Huston, Matt Howe, Connor Fitzpatrick and equipment manager Owen James. The Co-Coaches awards went to Conley and Campbell. McIntosh received a three year letter plaque the team’s Most Valuable Player award.
