Park progress — The public park ground was ploughed and harrowed this week and is now being leveled off in preparation to being seeded down. The walks will be laid out and everything will be put in first class condition. The work is under the supervision of Robert Palmer.

Hospital improvements — An open house will be held this afternoon at Aroostook General Hospital in the new $337,000 wing. Official inspection by the public was delayed until today to tie in with National Hospital Week.
The new 32-bed wing also includes a nursery with 10 bassinets and brings hospital capacity up to 65 beds.

World finals — SAD 70 Olympics of the Mind team are all set to leave May 25 for Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Mich. where they will compete in world finals. Team members include Mark Scarano, Craig Rhoda, Timothy Merritt, Amber Porter and Ben Ritch-Smith; alternates are Kim Ivey and Gerald Morey. Coaches are Susan Gricus and Joann Dunphy.
New doctors — Houlton Regional Hospital welcomed four new physicians at a coffee last week. They include Dr. Martin Hrynick, family practitioner; Dr. Linda Maraya, pediatrician; Dr. Chester Husted, orthopedic surgeon and Dr. J.J. Castruitas, anesthetist.
