Candidate Frary to tour Aroostook County
Professor John Frary, Republican candidate for Congress, has announced that he will be making a tour of central Aroostook County this Wednesday, May 14.
Frary is challenging Democratic incumbent Michael Michaud for the Second Congressional District. Frary will be visiting a variety of locations throughout the central part of the county including locations in Caribou, Fort Fairfield, Limestone, and Presque Isle. His tour will include a dinner at Slopes Restaurant from 6-8 p.m. at which the public is welcome to come and meet Professor Frary.
Hotline volunteers sought
The Battered Women’s Project will be conducting a free 30-hour hotline training beginning May 14th, and continuing until June 11th, 2008.
These trainings will be held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30-8:30 p.m. (with one Saturday) at the University of Maine at Presque Isle. Topics will include The Effects of Domestic Violence on Children, Safety Planning, The Predominant Aggressor and much more.

UMaine trustees coming north
BANGOR—The University of Maine System Board of Trustees will deal with a full agenda of financial, academic and management items when it meets Sunday and Monday, May 18-19, at the University of Maine at Presque Isle.
As part of the budget-making process, trustees will discuss and determine tuition rates, campus fees and room and board rates for the upcoming academic year.
All Board meetings are open to the public.
