PINWHEELS FOR PREVENTION — Danielle Langley, director of the Aroostook Council for Healthy Families, right, and her helper, 8-year-old Kiersten Langley, place pinwheels on the lawn in front the Maine State Police barracks on Route 1.
The pinwheels are part of the “Pinwheels for Prevention” campaign, a new nationwide public awareness campaign for child abuse prevention. The pinwheels, happy symbols of childhood, are meant to convey the message that “every child deserves the chance to be raised in a healthy, safe and nurturing environment.” All are welcome to join the Aroostook Council for Healthy Families and their partners for the health and safety of children. For more information, contact them at (877) 207-2301, extension 106.
