Torch cutting leads to Connor fire

    Use of a cutting torch accidently ignited grass which led to this structure fire off U.S. Route 1 in Connor on Monday.
Albert Roy, the property owner, was using the torch when the fire spread to his workshop and shed, investigators said. The Caribou Fire Department responded with 14 firefighters and received mutal aid from the Van Buren Fire Department. According to a Caribou spokesperson, the total amount of damage to the bulding and its contents, which included numerous tools, was $15,000. No one was injured in the fire.
