LINNEUS- John Harold Logie, 73, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, died May 20, 2008, at home surrounded by his family after a short illness. He was born October 1, 1934, in Houlton, the son of Carl and Thelma (Adams) Logie.
He was a graduate of Ricker Classical Institue, class of 1953. He worked for the B&A Railroad for 40 years, was a member of Linneus Freewill Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He enjoyed camping, attending the Fryeburg Fair with Kay and Dean, and spending time at camp.
He survived by his wife of 51 years, Elaine (Duley) of Linneus; children, Rhonda Logie of Bangor, Carl Logie of Linneus, Cheryl Harmon of Standish; grandchildren, William, Eric, Heather, Kelly, Rudi and Devon; great-granddaughter, Aurora; brother, Donald Logie of Front Royal, VA; sister, Kathryn McGinnis of Linneus; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends. He was predeceased by his parents; and two sisters, Marjorie Ahlers and Ruth Hall.
Friends called 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2008, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water Street, Houlton where funeral services were held 2 p.m. on Friday, with the Rev. Rick Murray officiating. Interment was held in the Linneus Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of Aroostook, 2 Water Street, Houlton, ME 04730.
