Limestone softball, baseball easing by the competition

    VAN BUREN – Both Eagle ball clubs had their way with Van Buren last Friday sprinting their way onto the scoreboard. Limestone baseball moved to 8-3 with the 27-4 win while the softball team posted a perfect 14-0 record with the 31-13 victory.

    On the baseball diamond, Senior Matt Enman led the charge round the bases with four hits including a triple for three runs and a homer.
    Enman drove in nine runs for the Eagles. Chris Parent helped on the pitcher’s mound allowing only one hit in five innings.
    In softball action, senior Melanie Allen cranked out her 11th home run of the season to drive in three runs.
    Victoria St. Pierre singled three times, doubled and posted a second-inning homer. Kellie Peers knocked three singles for four runs.
    Limestone softball notched their second win over Fort Fairfield last Wednesday, 16-3.
    Allen blasted a home run for two runs and one double while Victoria St. Pierre batted two singles for one run for the Eagles.
    Shannon Towle led the Tiger charge with a triple and a single.
    Tiger Josh Booth picked up a pitching win as Fort Fairfield defeated Limestone for the second time this season 5-1 last Wednesday. Booth also doubled and singled for two runs.
    Ryan Noyes hit two singles and a double, and Matt Cresenzo added two singles for FFHS.
    Eagle Ty Tracy hit an RBI double, and Parent doubled for Limestone.
Eagle offense tops Beavers
    Limestone softball moved to 12-0 after dealing with Washburn on May 20 for a 25-5 victory.
    Allen captained the Eagles with a homer, a double and a single in the win. St. Pierre also found the right pitch for a home run for two runs and two singles.
    Dawn McDonald posted a triple, double, single and two RBIs.
    Dakota Koch hit a triple and a single in the Beaver effort at the plate while Kelsee McLaughlin cranked out a double for three runs.
