Dancers ‘give their regards’ during marathon recital

    During the recent perfomance of the Maine Dance Academy, the Sparks Group danced to “Amazing Grace,” which was part of a Celtic medley presented by the academy.  Dancers include Kelsey Buck, Monica Beaupre, Katie Keaton, Danielle Loggans, Emily Keaton, Deavin Gustafson, Samara Cyr and Mairssa Ouellette.

    Maine Dance Academy performers from the Savion group showed off their glitzy costumes and their amazing hairdos as they danced to “Big Blonde and Beautiful”, from the musical “Hairspray” during the academy’s recent sell-out performances of “Give My Regards…”. Dances are from left: Austin Scott, Mackenzie Pelkey, Camryn Langille and Destiny Saucier.

    Dancers in the Tchorkinowski class  performed “Part of Your World” from the “Little Mermaid”, during the recent electric presentation of the Maine Dance Academy  students. Ballet students shown here include Kaitlyn Kinsey, in front, as “Ariel” and at far right, Kelsie Washington , as “Flounder”. The academy dancers presented  Friday and Saturday evening performances as well as to a third full house Sunday afternoon. The students of dance, under the instruction of Colleen Duplissie and ClaireAnn Flynn, number in excess of 300 and their venue of dance covers a wide variety of dance styles.

More thn 300 dance students performed in three shows at the Caribou Performing Arts to full houses during each performance of the 14th annual recital. The show was choreogrphed by Colleen Duplissie, the dance academy’s owner, Claranne Flynn, Danielle Atcheson and Andrea Bugbee. The program’s theme “Give my Regards” included four medleys: Hip Hop, Big Band, High School Musical and Celtic Tiger. Music from “The Little Mermaid” and “Hairspray” rounded out the recital.
