Katahdin High announces honor parts

Image    STACYVILLE — It is with great pleasure that Katahdin High School announces Brittany Landry as valedictorian of the class of 2008. Landry is the daughter of Richard and Sarah Landry of Patten. She plans to attend New England School of Communications in Bangor and major in digital media. She is a member of the National Honor Society, SADD team, Civil Rights Team, and Prom Committee. She has also served as editor of the yearbook, secretary of Student Council in 2007, played softball, a 2005 PVC all-star participant, and worked for Toys for Tots.
Image    Alexandria Olsson is salutatorian of the class of 2008. She is the daughter of Martin and Jennifer Olsson of Patten.  Alex plans to attend Eastern Maine Community College and major in liberal arts. Olsson is a member of National Honor Society, SADD team, and Prom Committee. She was a cheerleader, and worked for the Empty Bowls Program and Maine Youth Action Network. She is Secretary of the National Honor Society and was co-captain/captain of the cheerleaders. She was chosen for the Williams College Book Award in 2007.
    The following students are honor students of the class of 2008 listed in alphabetical order.
    Reba Anderson is the daughter of Dwinal and Rachel Anderson of Patten. She will attend University of Maine in Presque Isle and major in social work/psychology. Reba participated in Student Council and was the girls’ basketball manager.
    Thomas Anderson is the son of James and Leanne Anderson of Patten. He plans to attend either University of Maine in Fort Kent and major in Environmental Studies or Conservation. He played varsity basketball, soccer, baseball, and volleyball. Anderson was treasurer, vice president and president of the Student Council and elected treasurer, vice president, and president of the his class through out high school.
    Sarah Chong is the daughter of Deanne Chong of Patten. She is planning to attend Husson and major in nursing.  Sarah participated in cheerleading and soccer.
    Jasmine Cyr is the daughter of Danette Moody of Patten. She plans to attend Northern Maine Community College and major in nursing. Cyr played varsity soccer, basketball, volleyball, and softball. She was a member of Student Council and the Spanish Club. She was the vice president of her class in 2005, the president of her class in 2006 and 2008, and Spanish Club vice president. She was on the volleyball all-star team and PVC soccer all-star teams.
    Caitlin Duffy is the daughter of John and Jill Duffy of Benedicta. She is plans to attend Kennebec Valley Community College and major in the occupational therapy assistant program. She played varsity softball and soccer and was also a member of Student Council and National Honor Society. She was manager of the boys’ basketball, worked on prom committee, yearbook, and Catholic Youth Ministry.
    Maggie McNally is the daughter of David and Colette McNally of Stacyville. She plans to attend Eastern Maine Community College and major in early childhood education.  Maggie participated as the manger of basketball, softball, and baseball.
    Jasmine Pelletier is the daughter of Richard and Barbara Pelletier of Stacyville. She is plans to attend Northern Maine Community College and major in early childhood education. She played varsity softball and was in ski club.  She was also the manager of the basketball team.
    Felisha Robinson is the daughter of Rob and Susan Robinson of Benedicta.  She is plans to attend Northern Maine Community College and major in general studies. Robinson played varsity soccer, basketball, softball, and volleyball.  She has also completed her Certified Nurses’ Assistant course.
    Kayla Stevens is the daughter of Tom and Brenda Stevens of Sherman. She plans to attend University of Maine at Presque Isle and major in psychology. Stevens played varsity basketball, soccer, softball, volleyball, and was a member of Student Council.
