Baptist Park, a summer camp in Mapleton with a Christian message, is scheduled to begin its summer season Sunday, June 22.

A full schedule of fun, friendship and spiritual growth is available to people of all ages.
The season begins with “Escape Velocity Camp” June 22 for ages 14-18.
Flight Camp is another option that week for those 14-18.
“The registration deadline for this camp has been extended until all 15 openings are filled or the first day of camp, whichever comes first,” said Adrian Hagerstrom, camp director.
Campers will be introduced to the fundamentals of flight and participate in actual flights (weather permitting) with a licensed, qualified pilot. Also, campers will be introduced to careers in aviation with an emphasis on missionary aviation.
To register for Flight Camp, go to www.brigadeair.com and click on “camper registration.” Pre-registration is required.
The week of June 29 through July 4 will be “Lifting Off Camp” for ages 11-14.
July 6-8 will be “Growing Up Adventure” for ages 6-7.
Small Fry Fun Day, for ages 4-5, will be July 9. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and campers are to be picked up at 5 p.m., after their supper.
Puddle Jumpers Day Camp 1 and 2 are July 10 and 11. Campers may register for one or both camps.
Registration each day begins at 8:30 a.m. and the camp ends at 5 p.m. following supper. Additionally, parents may choose to make memories with their child by selecting the Puddle Jumper Pal option.
By registering for both camps, this option allows parents and children to spend the night in one of Baptist Park’s cabins. In the evening, they can make use of Baptist Park’s facilities or go off campus for something to do.
“For an extra $15 for one parent or $25 for two, it’s a great way to make wonderful memories with your child,” said Hagerstrom.
“Jumpstart Adventure Camp” is scheduled from July 13-18 for ages 8-12.
“Outpost Wilderness Camp” will be held from July 20-25 for ages 13-18. During this time, campers will spend time living in the outdoors, including sleeping and cooking in the wilderness. Map and compass skills, hiking and canoeing will be part of the five-day session.
“Maxed Out Adventure Camp,” from July 20-25, is for ages 8-12.
Labor Day Retreat, a popular summer’s end session, will be held from Aug. 29-Sept. 1 for ages 13-18. Gather for a weekend of fun and preparation for the school year ahead.
In all camps, campers participate in daily worship and receive lessons from the Bible. Both are targeted for the age of the camper involved.
Daily activities vary depending on the campers’ age and each week’s theme. A sampling of activities include swimming in a heated, enclosed pool, miniature golf, rappelling wall, rock climbing wall, canoeing, geocaching and crafts.
Offerings for adults are available, too.
Man vs. Water Men’s Retreat will be held from July 11-13 for men age 16 years old and older. Pre-registration is required for a weekend of white water rafting on the Kennebec River and growing in your relationship with Christ.
The Rev. Steve Straubel, pastor of Littleton United Baptist Church, will bring instruction from the Bible. Sixteen- and 17-year-olds may attend if accompanied by an adult registered for the retreat and with a signed release provided by Windfall Rafting.
Women’s Retreat will be held Sept. 5-6 for women aged 13 and older.
It’s a time for women to spend some time fun, fellowship and growth with other women. Lois Flewelling, Empowering Life Ministries in Houlton, will be the speaker for this event.
