Sherman – Mrs. Glenna (Gould) Hejduk, 71, died June 11, 2008, at Houlton Regional Hospital, after a long illness. Glenna was born on September 7, 1936, the daughter of Percy and Gladys (Dearborn) Gould of Gould Farm in Sherman.
Glenna was a graduate of Sherman High School, Class of 1955, and a graduate of the University of Maine Music School. Previously she was the wife of Victor Botting, Sr. of Oakfield. She is the mother of their five sons, Darrell, David, Victor Jr. (Butch), William (Bill), and Harold Botting. She was a proud grandmother and great-grandmother many times over.
She leaves behind her sister, Elgah (Gould) Merry, her brother Gene Gould and his wife Analee, and her sister-in-laws Marie, Louise, Nancy Gould. She was predeceased by her beloved parents; brothers, Robert, Keith, and Bruce Gould, and her sister and twin, Gladys (Gould) Burgess.
After fifteen years of living and working on her own as a poet, Glenna met her soul-mate, Burton Hejduk, and married him in 1992. Glenna and Burton shared a joyous relationship of mutual devotion and poetic inspiration. Mr. and Mrs. Hejduk happily resided for ten years in Sherman, where they felt blessed to be surrounded by loving and caring family and friends.
Glenna was baptized at the Washburn Memorial Church, where a funeral service was held on Sunday, June 15th, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Daniel Prioux Off. The committal service immediately followed at the family plot on the Golden Ridge Road in Sherman. Gifts in her memory may be made to the Washburn Memorial Church, Sherman.
