Eight eighth grade students graduated from New Sweden School last week during commencement ceremonies.
Named as valedictorian was Ashley Mary Christie, while Laura Rose Kavin earned the title as salutatorian.
The honor part went to Makaila Leeann Bourgoine.

Earning the honor parts of the 2008 graduation class of New Sweden School were, from left, Makaila Leeann Bourgoine, honor part; Ashley Christie, valedictorian; and Laura Rose Kavin, salutatorian. A total of eight students graduated during ceremonies on June 10.
The guest speaker for the ceremony was Nancy Holmquist of New Sweden.
A slide show also was presented depicting the class through the years.
Superintendent John Hedman and Principal Gail Maynard awarded the diplomas and other honors.
In addition to the students earning the honor parts, other members of the graduating class were Amos MacLeod, Charles McCabe, Cole Plourde, Jessie Sandstrom and Duayn Sparks.
